Make India Pakistan partition part of National Curriculum!!

The aim of this petition is for the Department of Education to consider teaching Partition of India in 1947 on the National Curriculum. The impact of Partition was to divide colonial India into two separate states - one with a Muslim majority (Pakistan) and the other with a Hindu majority (India) is commonly seen as the outcome of conflict. However it runs much deeper than this and remains an almost overlooked period of the lives of families with connections to both countries.
From being taught nothing on the national curriculum, it should be taught as part of the Prevent agenda, Community Cohesion and start the debate on a national memorial to commemorate the huge loss of life and how this has impacted on Asian communities and related fallout from a decision that still continues today.
