Make Self Defence compulsory in the Schools & other Educational Institutes

The Issue

I was travelling in the local train in Chennai alone. It was 4pm , & i was returning from school late after my practice. There was no one in the train compartment when i boarded the local. After a couple of stations one man boarded. I just looked at him once and was lost for some time in my own thoughts . After few minutes when the train was moving this man came near me and tried to touch me hold me all i could do at that point in time was push him away and go to another side . but the man came behind & started harassing me, i didn't know what to do, i was scared . Thank fully the next station came by and I descended and went into another compartment. This incident shook me and i stopped getting in the empty compartments and general compartments in the local trains since then. I felt helpless & weak at that age of 14.

I still carry this fear in me when i travel alone though i am more equipped now and more aware of how to handle such situations.

I never got formal education on how to protect myself in such  situations, just as most of us. The horrifying thing is it can happen with just anyone . As children don't tend to express it easily and live for years in the fear of being grappled or harassed.

If our Education system enable us to fight this to an extend this situation can be controlled. The Idea is to empower each and every child at the early age itself to handle such scenarios. For this we need to create a strong physical preparedness among the children. Whats best place than their schools and colleges & other institutes. A Strong Body with an empowerment to deal with such situation will lead to stronger and a fearless country.

Self Defense Should be made mandatory in all schools & educational institutes.

I need at least 100000 to move this petition and invite all of you to support me in this cause for a better safe and fearless future for children.
