Most students are impacted physically and mentally during the COVID-19 pandemic most of the students if not all are undergoing stress due to the fact that they have to worry about finishing multiple assignments on a daily basis depending on the school district people are sitting in front of screens for multiple hours which is scientifically proven to have an impact on students mental health we the students of NYS are asking The New York State Education Department to lower the required passing grade from 65 to 55 students are constantly worried about completing assignments on time but The New York State Education Department has to understand that we are no longer sitting in a classroom and getting the same type of education we had 2 years ago we are now learning from a different perspective it’s something new that we have to learn to adapt to but so many students are messing up there school experience with a non-passing grade and getting left behind which is something that mentally scars a student because of the fact that school is not only a place you learn you usually interact with other students and that is something that you can’t do anymore because of this ongoing pandemic students have and staff have been quarantined and this stress put on the students shoulders shouldn’t be accepted
