Mayor of New York City and the department of disease control is making it mandatory for High School students to get vaccinated, choosing between their fears and their futures. If you play high risk sports you have to get vaccinated. Many kids and parents are against this. The vaccine does not stop the spread. You can still transmit the virus to other people. The vaccine does not stop you from becoming sick. What happens if  one sport team gets the vaccination then the other schools decided not to? The children have lost so much in these past months. They have been looking forward to high school sports for over a year to only be told three weeks before their season that they have to choose between the game they love and a vaccination that has not even been proven to stop the virus. This year is some of these kids senior year. They will never get another chance to play high school football. They will never get another chance to earn a sports scholarship. They may never get another chance to showcase their skills to college coaches.  Some of these kids use sports as an outlet to get away from the gangs, drugs and abuse that they possibly face in their lives. These kids see this as their only way out. Some parents don't have the funds to pay for their kids college and scholarships are their only way of being able to get into a good school. So for someone to hold these kids future in their hands is unfair. These kids deserve to play without being forced to get a vaccination. Allow them to play!!!!
