Employ more than one counsellor at schools and colleges, to give young people more time to get the help they need. 
Most schools and colleges only hire one part-time counsellor to support young people. They work 2/3 days, and therefore only have 10-15 sessions a week for 300-2000 children. This is not enough time. So In turn young people are given a 6 week window to speak to their counsellor. THIS is not enough time to fully open up or even scratch the surface of what they’re going through or have experienced. If there was another counsellor trained, and hired, this would mean 25 sessions per week, and more time for those students that have really been through it and deserve longevity. This could be part of what’s needed to process trauma, it would mean the older these kids get, the better they can handle future challenges. There would be better coping mechanisms for the work place, for attending university, for having children or achieving whatever dream they do desire. I’m hopeful that this petition will demonstrate that we care for those young minds, and that more change is needed to help those who are actually asking for it. Please be a part of this call with me.
