Hi! I am an 11 year old boy living in Boca Raton, Fl. I'll split this description to show why I started this petition.

1. Homework causes stress - Everyone hates homework. And studies have shown that homework causes much stress. Quoted from WebMD "Teens on average have more then 3 hours of homework a night. That doesn’t leave a lot of time for after-school fun or even sleep." Yet teachers complain about students not being awake. Not okay in my eyes.

2. Outdated - The school system we currently used was founded in the Industrial Age during the 1800s. We adopted it so we can train kids to become factory workers. As quoted from Next School "All day long, students do nothing but follow instructions. At school, you're rewarded for doing what you're told. These are Industrial Age Values that were really important for factory workers." And the world has changed. We need a new system.

3. Socializing - School is the place where you prepare yourself for the future. Today, the world depends on people who can work together and solve problems together. But one of the main rules that school enforces is "No talking." This will really take a toll on learning. We humans can't do anything by ourselfs, but when we work together, we can achieve anything in the world.   

That is all I'm gonna say. If you want more information, I put some videos in the comments. I urge the government and every state to change the way of learning. The rest of the world has complied but America hasn't. Many students and many teachers are tired of this. As stated by Prince E.A "Sure Math is important, but no more then Art or Dance."
