The conservation strip is not to be confused with Taronui Road which leads to Tapuaetahi, one of many beautiful beaches closed to the public as access is over private land.

The public 3.7km Taronui Bay walking track offers a last chance to get to the open coastline and a surf beach. We are asking for DOC to approve vehicle use to the top of the hill above the lagoon.
