My name is Susan C. I am a mother and also a grandmother of a two-year-old grandson Aussie Damien.
On November 4, 2018, a report for potential neglect was filed by Healthy Families, a third-party private contractor.
The very next day in violation of state and federal laws, child protective services visited the hospital and removed the newborn baby Aussie Damien from the care of his mother and grandmother, in the absence of any evidence of abuse or neglect or any previous history of child abuse or neglect.
Among the federal and state laws violated, including due process violations were: numerous mandated investigative procedures such as face-to-face interviews, collateral information, and interviews with family, friends, or neighbors; all in the absence of any evidence of child neglect or abuse.
Most egregiously, the newborn was removed from his doting mother and grandmother based on allegations of potential child abuse/neglect. Hospital records, however, do not document any form of child abuse/neglect or even any potential risks of any kind of abuse/neglect. On the contrary and most conclusively, both mother and child were reported to be very healthy with a strong natural bond of love for 9 months and extending to the newborn’s birth mother and the grandmother loving familiar ties.
The mother, Katey C. is a 32-year-old, healthy and fit young woman without any criminal record, any history of child abuse, adult abuse, or crimes of any sort; including zero drug/alcohol involvement, criminal history or zero child abuse of any form of abuse to others or family members.
Background History: November 2018 the mother Katey gave birth to Aussie Damien. The hospital reported the Mother Katey to be fit and able to care for her newborn baby Aussie, especially with the continuous support of loving grandmother Susan C. Healthy Families called in a report to the DCF Hotline which does not properly identify the mother, the baby and their family.
Consequently, as previously stated, the serious violations of Katey’s rights as a mother, not only include state laws and due process violations; but also, violations to DCF required investigative processes and mandated evidence in order to remove a child.
Moreover, in the absence of any evidence of abuse/neglect, the mother Katey C. also passed and received reports from two separate psychological and psychiatric evaluations, deeming her a fit and capable mother with the continued love and support from family and friends, including devoted grandmother Susan, whom Katey lives with and can consistently count on.
Additionally, the grandmother, Susan C. is a devoted and experienced mother, child care provider, babysitter, government employee, and well respected in her community.
Likewise, the grandmother has zero histories of any form of abuse, neglect, or criminal record and zero involvement with drugs and alcohol. The grandmother furthermore is capable and has expressed her desire to help and do whatever is necessary to help in the rearing of grandson Aussie.
Susan C. is additionally financially fit and has far surpassed any questions to her character and mental fitness by voluntarily submitting to a psychological examination that concluded her to be fit and capable to be a caregiver for her baby grandson.
Furthermore, grandmother Susan C. submitted herself to further personal inspection by an overreaching DCF; These tests concluded that Susan C. is fit and capable of helping to raise grandson Aussie. She also passed two home inspections and collateral verification.
In spite of all this, and in the absence of zero evidence of neglect/abuse previous to present; both the mother and the grandmother, as well as numerous loving blood relatives, have been denied raising their own child or adopting Baby Aussie. Furthermore, they have all been denied seeing baby Aussie or even inquiring about the baby’s whereabouts or wellbeing.
This outrageous case needs prompt and urgent investigation and attention brought to the Attorney General’s office and the Governor of the State of Florida for their investigative units.
Please find a few important documents regarding all of the above statements of facts.
Grandmother Susan C. has continuously requested evidence of any abuse/neglect towards baby Aussie. DCF has yet to produce any evidence of abuse/neglect.
The unfounded allegations that DCF offered as evidence, in numerous unfounded and frivolous hearings were all hearsay evidence from strangers that had no knowledge of the family, the family's background, home environment, or any of the family’s care and bonds to son/grandson baby Aussie Damien.
These are all:
- State law violations.
- Due process violations.
- Human Rights, civil rights violations, and constitutional violations.
- US Department of Health and Human Services violations.
- Disregard for the family’s socioeconomic, ethnic, educational, and cultural angles.
- I believe to be a victim of discrimination and targeted persecution based on my age and marital status as a single woman. Additionally, I am being discriminated against as a Latino woman and having a speech impediment which makes it difficult for me to communicate.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration with my petition.
Sincerely,
Susan C.
