My son is 5.5 and diagnosed with asd, OCD, pica, ADHD. His father was absent his whole life until they finally got him for child support. He was forced into supervised visitations and they went terrible, doctors, therapists, daycare all recommended them to stop. Judge blamed he probably did not like the environment and gave him unsupervised visits. My son acted out ultimately getting kicked out if daycare and he finally opened up saying he was trying to be like his dad and said he was hit and everything so filed a 51a with dcf and they met with my son but he did not like the investigator so would not talk to her, I requested someone else specialized in asd to be sent and was told they did not have anyone and did not have time. I requested for a GAL and was told hes 5 and autistic that we wouldn't get far. So instead hes being forced to see the abuser. Its killing him and me and so I am stepping forward and advocating for all of our kids. CDC says 1 in 7 kids has some form of developmental disability and DCF workers and not mandated to be trained to work with these children.  I am working on getting a law passed by Congress mandating these workers and family courts be trained to work with and communicate with our children so they are heard. This law would not just benefit my family but 1 in 7 American Families! Let's make their voices heard!
