It is standard practice in the pork industry to thump piglets. Thumping is when farmers slam the piglets headfirst into the ground because they won't meet a size requirement or are sick and deemed a waste. Often times this does not immediately terminate the piglet’s life and the piglet begins to have a seizure. Farmers continue to thump them again and again until they stop moving. This is the cheapest way for farmers to “deal with the problem”, but it is the most inhumane. This act is completely legal in the United States as well as other countries. There are other options the farmers can use that are less inhumane, ethical and not violent. We cannot continue to neglect the innocent, we need to protect them. Please sign and spread the word.
