The Issue

My family and I, along with numerous other residents in Pherrin Township, stand to be substantially affected if the proposed gravel mining operations are allowed to proceed. We live less than a mile from the proposed excavation site. The proximity of such an operation to our homes is not just an inconvenience, it's a potential detriment to perhaps our most significant investment: our homes. It is well-documented that mining operations can negatively affect nearby property values, turning our cherished homes into financial burdens.

It's not just our property values at risk. Our quality of life could also diminish due to noise, dust, and increased traffic associated with the mining operations. Pherrin township has been looking to improve 55th St NW for our community and the increased heavy traffic would diminish our efforts moving forward to creating a paving district and create a financial burden trying to upkeep the current gravel. Furthermore, the potential environmental impact of these operations could be devastating. Gravel mining can lead to habitat destruction, loss of biodiversity, and contamination of surface water, groundwater which could directly effect neighbors who have invested in water wells to upkeep properties along with our soil.

This is not just about protecting our own interests - it's about preserving the character and environment of Pherrin Township for future generations. For these reasons, we implore the relevant decision-makers to reject all 3 proposals for the gravel mining operations in Pherrin Township located in Williams County, ND. Every signature gathered represents a voice in our community that says no to this harmful proposal. Please, add yours and sign our petition.
