It is with heavy hearts that we remember the Apartheid era and how it brought about divisions and suffering in our beloved nation, South Africa. Despite the odds, our founding fathers managed to avert civil war and preach peace, fostering nation building with a democratic vision. This progress, however, is being undermined by Mr Phil Craig who is pushing for the independence of Western Cape from the rest of the country.

Mr. Craig's separatist views sow the seeds of racial division and disturb the societal healing that the black population is trying to achieve. His proposition is not only threatening our peace but also picking the old wounds of apartheid. Mr. Craig, a foreigner yet to acquire citizenship, is belittling our collective efforts and resilience in the face of our historical struggles.

We therefore plea the Department of Home Affairs to deny Mr. Craig's claim to South African citizenship, and further declare him a persona non grata. It is crucial to safeguard the unity and integrity of our nation. For the peace we've attained, the progress we've made, and for the love of our country, let us stand together and ensure the continued harmony of our society.
