The Issue

This petition began as a campaign to keep my son’s murderer behind bars and it still is.

In 2008, my precious son was brutally taken from this world in a horrific act of violence. His killer was convicted and sentenced, but now, I'm facing the unimaginable: the possibility of his early release.

I've recently been informed that the man who murdered my son will begin pre-tariff assisted release, though no date has yet been confirmed. This means he may soon be allowed out on temporary license, despite not having served his full sentence. It feels like yet another injustice, not just to my son, but to every family who has lost someone to violence.

The trauma of losing a child never leaves you. Knowing his killer could walk free, even temporarily, reopens deep wounds and creates fresh fear not only for me but for the community as well.

This campaign is more important now than ever. With your help, I hope to present this petition and your voices at the next Parole Commissioners' review. Every signature strengthens my plea to keep this man where he belongs: behind bars.

Please continue to support us by signing and sharing this petition. Justice for my son must be protected.
