Parkour Park for Denver

0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!

Denver Parks and Rec is open to the idea of a dedicated parkour park in the city, but they first need to see community interest for one. That's where we need you to fill out this petition, and share it among your friends and family! The compiled signatures will be presented to Denver Parks and Recreation with support from the Mayor's office.

Colorado, considered the American "Mecca" of parkour, is home to 7 parkour gyms and hosts multiple parkour gatherings which garner international attention and attendance. Yet there is still no permanent public space dedicated to this increasingly popular activity, limiting what is otherwise considered to be one of the most accessible modern forms of recreation.

Internationally, parkour parks have become popular places for free form athletics with thriving communities. And in the USA, two parkour parks have opened. The most recent in Boise, ID was constructed to reactivate a degrading area through the creation of a recreational space for an active community.

Creating public spaces for upcoming athletic trends will further cement Colorado's status of being at forefront of fitness in the nation. By creating a parkour park, Denver can bring legitimacy to this internationally known activity which is inspiring young and old to run, jump, climb, and move.
