ODTU Mezunu genc kardesimiz Deniz Goktas'in ulkeye dondugunde havaalaninda goz altina alinmasini ve hakkinda sorusturma acilmasini protesto ediyoruz. Yapilan ifade ozgurlugunun ihlalidir. Deniz'in sucsuzluguna yurekten inaniyor ve Deniz'in yanindayiz diyoruz.
Kampanyanin ilk baslamisinin ardindan, surec cok hizli gelisti, ve Cuma gunu (3 Temmuz'da), Caglayan Adliyesinde , hakkinda tutuklama karari verildi. Deniz Goktas bir komedyen olarak cezaevine gonderildi. Deniz'in komedyen kimligi ve mizahinin anlasilamamasi bu noktaya kadar geldi. Biz bu keyfi tutuklamayi protesto etmeye devam ediyoruz. Deniz Goktas is a Turkish stand-up comedian who uses political satire in his shows. His recent show in Istanbul Harbiye in June was released on YouTube and was viewed by millions in few days. His wit, his nuanced analysis and translating that analysis and political views through humor captured the attention of millions in Turkey and his popularity soared rapidly. Due to this recent show, the Turkish government started an investigation against him. On July 2, 2026, when Deniz was returning to Turkey from abroad, he was detained at the Istanbul airport. This act is against the exercise of basic liberties, human rights and freedom of expression. We strongly condemn the arbitrary detention of Deniz Goktas and requesting international support to pressure the government for his immediate release.
Friday 3 July, the court ordered Deniz's arrest. He has been placed in the jail. Deniz is a comedian and he will remain as one. He is an entertainer.
