Residential Advisors are in place to support students as they make the difficult transition into college life. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, students may feel uncomfortable reaching out to a mentor figure who was so vehemently opposed to inclusivity training that she went on national TV and said: "a line needs to be drawn" in reference to being taught about the identities of non-gender conforming students. 

A section of text within the 'Residential Living' section of the WCU website reads as follows: "We strive to create living and learning communities where students feel valued as individuals and celebrate diversity and fellowship with others." Many students believe that Ms. Sanders does not embody these values, making her unfit to be a residential assistant.
