Repair The Demopolis, Alabama Confederate Memorial To Its Original Condition

The Issue

On July 16th 2016 the Confederate Monument in Demopolis, AL was struck by a patrol car of the Demopolis Police Department.  The monument was damaged and the soldier standing on top was broken.  The monument was a gift to the city of Demopolis from the Marengo Rifles Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and was erected in 1910.  The monument commemorates the Confederate soldiers of Marengo County that died in battle during the Civil War.  By signing this petition you are showing your support that the monument be repaired and the soldier that once stood at the top be replaced to his rightful position where he has stood for the past 106 years.
