Greetings! We encourage each of you to find one more person that will sign the petition.

It’s Time for us to Stop Looking Away and To Do the Right Thing
Our commitment remains steadfast: we believe deeply in the mission of Future Generations University (FGU) and its potential to thrive. But that future is only possible in a culture rooted in empowerment, transparency, accountability, positivity, and ethical governance.
It is with heavy hearts that we take the position of opposing the current leadership. The last thing we want is to harm the institution. But we must face the reality: the current Board of Trustees is actively endangering FGU’s future. The behaviors we’ve witnessed are only possible in environments where oversight is minimal, accountability is absent, and remoteness, a small student body, and a culture of silence, shield troubling actions.
When unethical leadership becomes normalized, it often persists under the misguided belief that “protecting the institution” is more important than the truth. As history has shown—most notably at Penn State and in countless other cases, “protection at all costs” is not protection at all. It is complicity.
It often takes transparency and external intervention to bring change. The time for cover-ups has passed. We must shine a light, demand reform, and build the kind of leadership that can lead FGU forward with integrity and vision, into an institution we can all be proud of.
There is little doubt that outside pressure will eventually force a change in board leadership. The only question is how much damage will be done before that happens. The Board still has the power to control that outcome.
Recent Developments
1. We have updated our petition in response to troubling information: new members have nominated to the Board of Trustees, including one with a documented history of involvement in sexual harassment allegations.
After this individual’s departure from FGU, then-Interim President Fran Day assured some staff members that he would not return. It was Fran Day herself who recently nominated him to the Board.
The Board’s decision to include this member is not only deeply disappointing, but also part of a continuing pattern of leadership failures that are actively harming the university in real time.
2. We have also learned that complaints have been filed against the Trustees with:
· The Higher Learning Commission (HLC)
· The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission
· The West Virginia Attorney General’s Office
Furthermore, there is indication that the Attorney General’s Office will be initiating an investigation based on the evidence and concerns outlined in the petition. Based on the outcomes of cases the AG has pursued at universities where there was far less egregious conduct, there is every reason to believe that full board removal is the most likely resolution. But that process may take many weeks in which more reputational damage could be done to the university.
We urge the Board to set aside their personal agendas. The future of Future Generations University is at stake.
It is time for the Trustees to do the right thing—for the university, for its students and staff, and for the core values that FGU was founded to uphold.
