Greetings with immense gratitude for us petition signers demanding our health and safety be protected by halting the project and permissions of Somo Village/Resynergi for a toxic industrial facility in our neighborhoods, next to schools, in our City/County.
If WE don’t want this facility to become a reality on August 19 2025, signing this petition was just the FIRST step!
Here’s a crucial update to keep us successfully moving towards protecting our health and safety.
1) Officially register your opposition to the Air Board (BAAQMD). We have only until August 18 (without an extension that has currently been denied). PLEASE NOTE! Air Board (BAAQMD) is ready to issue the permit for this project to operate. *

“The District has reviewed the material contained in the permit application for the proposed project …” “…preliminary recommendation is to issue an Authority to Construct/Permit to Operate…” Here’s the little crack we are invited to slip into “However, the proposed source will be located within 1,000 feet of a school, which triggers the public notification requirements of District Regulation 2-1-412. After the comments are received and reviewed, the District will make a final determination on the permit.” **
2) Demand Air Board (BAAQMD), and also our elected representatives, give an extension on the public comment period by 90 days. Please do this now and repeat until we get the extension. WE all know WE were not considered until now, we deserve this support. Find details below *
3) Keep this petition rockin and rollin. This is THE place we show our collective strength to all who have allowed this project to progress to this point WITHOUT OUR VOICES! The more signatures we get (especially from Sonoma county zip codes) the louder our, up until now, ignored voice is! Share, post and share some more!
This project will negatively alter the air we breathe with extremely harmful pollutants. Call this facility microwave assisted pyrolysis or an incinerator or a place reconstituting plastic waste… No matter the name, this facility will heat up 5 tons of plastic a day and exhaust their emissions 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 350 days a year into OUR air.
And before we go, let’s look to the future along with the project developers, who are already planning for 4-times scaled-up production BEYOND this permit we are currently petitioning. “…that will allow us to process 20 tons of plastic per day into oil. We’re really excited about scaling and our expansion project. We’re looking at 50,000 sq. ft. here [somo], where we will be able to really ramp up what we’re currently doing.” ***
So, as stated from the developers themselves, this is just the beginning of the toxic cocktail party we have all been invited to without our knowledge (until now!) and RSVP’d "Yes" for without our consent.
Let’s keep going, send in our “NO!” RSVP’s as detailed in 1,2,3 above and be VERY thankful for those of us working together to protect our community’s health and safety! We must act individually to create our community strength, THANK YOU!
