A 16 year old daily wage worker named Nandhini who belongs to the Dalit caste, was raped, murdered and thrown into a well by Manikandan and his group of friends. After receiving a complaint from her mother, Police searched for Nandhini who's body was later recovered from the well. Though it was a cold blooded and gruesome murder, necessary actions weren't apparently taken as those who committed this crime belongs to the dominant caste in that area.

Horrible incident happened few days before near Ariyalur that was spotted late by local people and police. It was a young 16-years-old girl brutally rapped by a gang, killed and thrown into the well. She was found naked at the well after 18 days of the incident. The most inhumane thing is her genital organs was tore and her fetus was pulled out. This heart breaking incident to done to Nandhini by her lover Manikandan who was also Hindu Munnani member.
