Hello everyone,
First of all, a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has signed and shared our petition. We've reached over 100 signatures already, which is unreal, however there's still work to be done!
We've recieved word from Wab Kinew, Leader of the Official Opposition in Manitoba, has heard from us and is taking our concerns seriously. He confirmed that this topic would be brought forward at the Manitoba Legislature to be discussed.
Wab Kinew had also mentioned that at the provincial level, these problems had been made worse due to cuts to the Northern Patient Transportation Program over the years. If Northerners are still required to travel over 700km for essential medical appointments, they should have the means to do so safely and with assistance.
I've also been in touch with a handful of journalists. I've been speaking with a reporter from a large news agency as well and I'm excited to see what comes from it! The media is an important step in spreading our message further and I look forward to talking with them and discussing my concerns.
Again,
Countless thank yous to everybody who cares about this issue as much as I do. Together, we can create change.
