The Issue

I am calling on X (formerly Twitter) to immediately become a participant in NCMEC’s Take It Down program; a free tool that helps stop the circulation of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) by removing known content through hash values, or digital fingerprints.

As a user of X, I’ve witnessed an alarming rise in bot accounts spamming CSAM under random hashtags, including innocent tags like “#caldodepollo.” Despite reporting these posts and accounts, they are multiplying faster than they can be removed.

Think about that for a second. I literally searched up a soup hashtag and found horrific CSAM material involving infants and toddlers.

Twitter says it has a zero-tolerance policy for CSAM.

But refuses to join a FREE program that helps survivors stop its spread.

Elon Musk is the richest man in the world. He has the technology. He has the money. He has the reach. What’s the excuse?

If a multibillion-dollar company can’t spare the time and money to protect children from exploitation, what does that say about their actual priorities?

Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok have already stepped up. Why hasn’t X?

Please sign and share the petition so we can curb the spread of CSAM on X.

If you are a survivor and you want to use Take It Down to stop the spread of your imagery, the link to the service is here: https://takeitdown.ncmec.org/
