An inconceivable humanitarian crisis is unfolding before our eyes. 80% of civilians living in Gaza have been displaced, and 2.5% of the Gaza Strip's total population has been killed or injured, 40% of them children. And it’s hitting us in our own backyard of Central Oregon.

In addition to the over 20,000 Palestinian lives lost since Oct. 7, Israeli citizens and soldiers are also dying as the Israeli government, backed by our own U.S. government, continues its attacks against Gaza and the West Bank. A permanent ceasefire will stop the needless death tolls in both the Occupied Palestinian Territories as and in Israel. 

It is time for our leaders to take a stand for peace. 

We call upon Senator Wyden and Representative Chavez-DeRemer to use their influence to support a permanent ceasefire in these regions.

As representatives of Central Oregon they have an obligation towards their constituents' voices, and we are demanding a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and an end to the violence against Palestinians in the West Bank.

Central Oregon for a Free Palestine is a group of Central Oregon residents who formed to call for an end to the daily disproportionate killing of women and children in Gaza as a result of Israel’s indiscriminate bombing campaign. Humanitarians first, the group’s current leaders include local Jewish and Palestinian residents, expats, elders, educators, mothers, fathers, local organizers and peacekeeping activists.
