Since moving into clement house, i've been plagued by issues that make living here almost unbearable. My first encounter with the persistent mice problem was in 2019. Despite reaching out to Lewisham Council numerous times, I found myself dealing with the infestation on my own. The council's negligence didn't stop there.

The ceiling in my bedroom was overwhelmed with mould, so much so that pieces fell and contaminated my water tank. It took months of my persistence before anyone came to fix it. Over Christmas 2023, my family and I lived amidst chaos, with 7-8 buckets collecting ominous leaks in the kitchen I was heavily pregnant and this matter still wasn't taken care of by the time I brought my newborn home in summer 2024. That was only fully repaired in January 2026. Despite thinking the worst was over, another leak has emerged in my bedroom (at present July 30th), rendering it unusable for me and my children to sleep in there. I have now moved downstairs into my living room. 

Clement House is not just my home; it's the home of many others who are suffering from the same neglect! The building is riddled with issues – rampant mice infestations, persistent leaks, and the ever-present threat of water damage and mould. These conditions not only affect the quality of life but pose significant health risks to residents, especially children.

Lewisham Council has repeatedly failed to address these serious problems o er the years. It's time for them to take responsibility and ensure that Clement House is a safe and healthy environment for all its residents. We call for immediate intervention to eradicate mice, repair leaks and water damage, and prevent future mould growth. This is not a matter of convenience but of dignity and safety.

Residents of Clement House and the surrounding community deserve better. We urge Lewisham Council and relevant bodies to take swift action to improve living conditions in Clement House and If the issues at hand can't be fixed then we should be able to be rehomed.
