AN OPEN LETTER TO THE MEMBERS OF THE UNITED STATES CONGRESS
Subject: A Formal Demand for the Impeachment, Conviction, and
Constitutional Removal of the Executive Branch Administration
Dear Members of the House of Representatives and the United States Senate:
We the People of the United States of America, in order to preserve our imperfect but improvable Union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, are writing this open letter as concerned citizens to formally demand that Congress immediately fulfill its constitutional obligations under Article II, Section 4 of the United States Constitution: Impeach, Convict, and Remove the President, the Vice President, and those complicit in his actions. The actions, policies, and systemic failures of the current administration have undermined the rule of law, violated public trust, and compromised our democratic institutions. Trump’s attack on our electoral system alone is an egregious offense. That you continue to stand by and watch as he wages a campaign of attrition against public faith is unconscionable; however, that is not the only offense that this president and his administration have committed.
When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
Governments are instituted among humans, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. Whenever any form of government becomes destructive, it is the right of the people to alter it. We the people now revoke our consent to be governed by this current administration and demand that our Congress impeach and remove them now. Any further refusal to act makes you complicit in the ongoing crimes, constitutional violations, and abuses visited upon the American public.
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security. Such has been the patient sufferance of these United States; and such is now the necessity which compels us to remove our consent to be governed by such a vile, incompetent, and dangerous administration. The history of the present administration is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over these States. To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world showing that Donald Trump, aided and abetted by his incompetent and spineless cabinet, the White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, and bootlicking congressional co-conspirators, has committed High Crimes and Misdemeanors:
- Donald Trump continues to claim that U.S. elections are “rigged,” or broken. He has made this claim no fewer than 544 times in 543 days (as of the date this letter was written). His address to the nation on July 16th, 2026, only further eroded our faith in our elections; meanwhile, his administration has cut staffing at the agencies that typically handle election security. So not only is Trump sowing the seeds of mistrust, he is simultaneously actively undermining our election security!
The documents he released have not shown support for his claims, yet he slandered a past president and former members of our intelligence community by claiming that they were involved in a cover-up. His implications of election insecurity, the actions he has taken to undermine the security he claims is threatened, and accusations of an intelligence cover-up go beyond constitutionally protected political speech, especially given the significance of his role in our government and on the world stage. His falsehoods fundamentally weaken the stability of our constitutional democracy. If our government derives its just powers from the consent of the governed, and elections are the only mechanism through which we can grant that consent, then what do we have left if we can no longer trust in the veracity of that civic agreement?
His lies have been crafted to undermine our trust, priming the people who still believe in him to view the results of the upcoming midterm elections as illegitimate, and we already know what they are willing to do in that situation. He does not believe in election fraud; he believes in saying and doing anything that keeps power in his hands. This should be enough to impeach, convict, and remove this administration; but there is more. - He is not capable of upholding his oath of office. He has thumbed his nose at our constitutional norms, including the following instances:
a. He attempted to nationalize elections, thought he could erase Birthright Citizenship with an executive order, and then attempted to
intimidate the Supreme Court justices by appearing in the front row of the public gallery during the oral arguments; he has functionally
denied due process to immigrants, imposed unconstitutional tariffs that threatened global stability and Americans' finances (For imposing
Taxes on us without our Consent), and has destroyed the independence of multiple agencies, including his attempt to install his personal
attorney as the top attorney in our nation.b. Trump has violated the Emoluments Clause, both foreign and domestic, and has increased his
personal wealth by 250%, some of which is attributable to his engagement with industries that he
regulates, all while a large swath of the American people cannot afford healthcare and struggle to feed their families.c. This administration implemented freezes on funds for grants and loans that had already been
approved by Congress.d. He and his administration have ignored or violated judicial orders 31 times, had 250 instances of
non-compliance in individual immigration proceedings, and have been the subject of 77 judicial
rebukes.e. He is destroying the Establishment Clause at every turn, evoking Christian Nationalist ideology.
- He has refused his assent to laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good. He used the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act to attempt to blackmail Congress into passing the SAVE Act, a restrictive voter ID bill that he is more and more desperate to pass so that he can retain power. While he did not veto the bill, he openly refused to sign it unless he got what he wanted.
- He has kept among us, in times of peace, standing armies without the consent of our legislatures. His ICE goons have wreaked havoc, ripped families apart, and murdered human beings, among them American citizens. He replaced order with chaos and based it on a pack of lies about the immigrants in our country, lies he still tells, painting human beings who actively contribute to our economy as enemies.
- He was either an active participant in what we now know was an international global criminal enterprise involving sexual slavery and torture (and possibly murder) of young girls and boys, and young women, or at best, is actively involved in a cover-up protecting the men and women involved in the criminal enterprise. This alone should have ended his presidency.
- He has destabilized international politics, is responsible for war crimes, threatened to erase an entire civilization, and continues to engage in an illegal war that his own intelligence has stated was unnecessary.
- The most horrifying of his actions as a president is that Donald Trump is stoking a civil war. He is dehumanizing and demonizing Democrats almost every time he speaks or posts on his social account. He stood in front of 800 generals and rambled about “the enemy within.” He has called Democrats radical, communists, crazy, incompetent, godless, demoncrats, stating that Democrats are more dangerous to the United States than foreign adversaries!
This rhetoric is dangerous, and he is not saying these things because he’s an incorrigible old bat, nor is he making these claims in a vacuum. No, he is setting the stage for the terrifying events to come. Donald Trump’s election fraud lies and his wild, hateful rhetoric about Democrats are working together toward the same end. As I mentioned earlier, we know what his most loyal followers are willing to do for him. Do not fail to imagine that they will do it again. This man we have in the highest office in our beautiful nation is setting us up for bloodshed. Thus far, he has been leading a slow-moving coup, but he knows the midterms will not be kind to him and his sycophants. After midterm elections, if he does not find a way to interrupt them, he will cry fraud, ballot boxes will be seized, his administration will commit the fraud that they decry (every accusation is a confession), and what you believe to be impossible on our soil will become probable. That is the night our Constitutional Republic, our Representative Democracy, the “Great Experiment,” will die. Your failure to anticipate this outcome and to hold this administration accountable makes you complicit in it.
This is by no means a conclusive accounting of his transgressions, and I might have missed some of the best examples of the scourge this administration has wrought upon our land, but I did not sit down to write a book today. We have always been a nation of optimism. If we had not been, we would not have worked so hard to improve this land we love, but the optimism is fading as we watch our government slide into autocracy and be damaged by ill intent, with the president and those who enable him not being held accountable. Therefore, we urgently call upon the House of Representatives to draft and pass Articles of Impeachment, and we call upon the Senate to swiftly convene a trial to convict and permanently remove the President, the Vice President, and all complicit civil officers from public office, and their little press secretary too. History demands accountability, and the future of our republic depends on your willingness to uphold your oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution and our great nation, the United States of America.
