I am concerned as a resident of Peterhead , I have became aware of a deeply unsettling situation that directly impacts our community.it is known that a convicted pedophile is being moved into our town, which is going to cause so much alarm and distress amongst the people of the town. Like many, I am passionately opposed to any danger that could harm the children of the town - they are our future and should be safeguarded at all costs.
In a study conducted by the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), it has been found that at least one in twenty children in the UK have been sexually abused. This shocking statistic magnifies the gravity of the concern. Allowing a person with such a horrific criminal past to live amongst us puts these innocent lives at stake.
Our ask is simple and resonates with the basic principles of democracy: transparency. We demand that the relevant authorities provide clear and timely information to residents whenever a registered sex offender is resettled in our community. Such transparency not only contributes to the safety of our children but also allows us, as residents, to exercise our rights and responsibilities more effectively.
For the safety of our children, for the peace of our community, and for the strength of our trust in the system, we implore all like-minded and concerned residents to sign this petition. We must stand together and transform our concern into a collective action for the betterment of Aberdeenshire. Please, sign this petition and join us in our request for transparency.
