My name is an anonymous user and I am a low-income resident. Like many others, I have recently been hit hard by the drastic price increases on gas and electricity by EVERSOURCE. As somebody who struggles to afford basic necessities like food, these hikes, ranging from 50% to 150%, have significantly compounded the hardship I am faced with. These sudden increases are not only unexpected but are also confusing considering the global energy prices are on a decline. We have a right to understand why EVERSOURCE has chosen to increase their rates to such an extent without sufficient explanation or reason. We call upon our state representatives and regulatory authorities to demand transparency from EVERSOURCE. Understanding the reasons behind these increases is instrumental in protecting the many low-income residents like me who are the most affected. It is essential that all consumers be informed about factors affecting our utility costs so we can take necessary steps and make informed decisions.
