We, the parents, carers, and residents of the Shaw community, are launching this petition to demand absolute transparency regarding the long-term future of East Crompton St George’s CE Primary School. We call upon the Cranmer Education Trust to actively protect, support, and invest in our school.

Recent public media coverage and local discussions regarding unfilled school places have created widespread anxiety among families and staff. Despite this growing community concern, parents have received no formal communication or direct clarity from trust leadership.

East Crompton St George’s is a fantastic, nurturing, "one-family" school community. Our children thrive here because of the dedicated staff and the close-knit, supportive environment. A small school environment is a vital option for families in Shaw, and any reduction in its provision would deeply impact our children’s education and stability.

Furthermore, we are deeply concerned by reports from local families who wish to choose St George’s but face confusing hurdles within the local admissions process. We want to ensure that every family who wants a place at our school is fully supported to secure one.

Open Communication: An official, written statement from the Cranmer Education Trust clarifying their long-term strategy for East Crompton St George’s.
