Over 2,400 signatures! Thank you so much

Thank you so much to everyone who is keeping this petition moving forwards.

We now have over 2,400 signatures and it is rising steadily hour-by-hour.

The purpose is clear;

we want to know if Hero is alive and well, following the awful news that PD Pearl had died (following a cancer diagnosis) without being reunited with Dave Wardell

we want to know whether Hero is still working or has been retired & re-homed

we want to see if Hero could be re-united with Dave whom she has known most of her life

I have seen some comments on social media that this petition is ‘hunting’ and ‘chasing’ and ‘harassing’ the ‘new owners’. That is simply untrue and could not be further from the truth. By contrast a polite and respectfully worded letter will be sent to the Chief Constable of Hertfordshire Police asking for answers to the questions. Nobody is ‘hunting’ anyone but we do want to know the answers to the questions.

Quite simply, if Hero has been retired and has been re-homed then that was morally wrong during a protracted investigation which took far too long to be resolved. Hero should have been kept safe and well under the auspices of ‘innocent until proven guilty’.

And as has been confirmed by Dave ‘there is no case to answer’ so he is ‘innocent’ and therefore Hero should have been available for him to enter discussions to adopt her upon retirement. 

We realise that this will be sensitive if Hero has now been re-homed but that doesn’t mean that questions shouldn’t be asked.
