It is never easy to put oneself 'above the parapet' especially on social media where comments can be made by people with strong opinions but who lack any knowledge of a situation. However, those of you who followed me when I was trusted by Dave to be #FabulousFinn's voice to Parliament (for #FinnsLawPart2) know that I am detailed, meticulous, thorough, fair, polite and persistent. I therefore want to find out the truth and to attempt to find a way for this wrong to be righted. 

Thank you to everyone who agrees that there are questions to be asked and answered. Everything that I do will use #Finns4Ps of #polite #positive #persistent #persuasion. My letter to the Chief Constable will be polite and respectful.

I seek answers to questions: I am 'daring to dream' that this wrong might be put right.

I have seen some comments on social media where people feel that this petition is wrong because they feel it is wrong to want to find Hero if she is now in a new 'home'. I respect their right to have opposing views to mine but I will never agree that it is wrong to want to #FindHero and to want to find out if she alive and well.

I do agree that if Hero is now re-homed that it will be a sensitive situation but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't ask questions and that we shouldn't try to put right this wrong.

The BBC have used some wording from a Facebook post in which Dave shared his belief that Hero has been re-homed (which is based on third or fourth hand comments) and so that is what he believes to be the case. However, what I am seeking is accurate, up to date, factual information directly from 'the horses mouth' (i.e. from Hertfordshire Police).

I always consider other people's viewpoints as a way to check my own thinking and to ensure that I am certain about any decisions I take. 

Earlier, I spoke with Dave and I asked his permission to share something that he shared with me:

"Even if Hero has been retired and re-homed, she is likely to only have been in that home for a matter of months (based on what I can work out). Working dogs go to foster homes all the time. It's how they start their life. However, Hero needs to be with me and if she were given the choice, she would not hesitate to want to come home." (Dave Wardell)

Hero was with Dave from the age of 10 months and she should have been kept in kennels until the outcome of the investigation so that she was available to be adopted by Dave upon her retirement. That's my view and nobody will persuade me otherwise.

At the moment, we are assuming that Hero is alive and well. We are assuming that she might have been retired and re-homed but none of this is known for certain which is why I will be writing to the Chief Constable of Hertfordshire Police when the time is right.  For now, please keep signing and sharing.
