The Issue

As a homeowner in Glasgow, like many families living in a four-block property, we are faced with paying burdensome factor fees to property management companies, specifically to Lowther. These fees, mandated by outdated title deeds of properties over 80 years old, are supposed to cover services such as building maintenance and insurance. However, we see nothing that suggests we are being provided with a legitimate service in return for our payment.

Lowther insists they maintain our property, but evidence of their work is conspicuously absent. Our homes, our families, deserve better. We believe the freedom of choice should extend to selecting our property management company or insurance provider, as is the case with other forms of insurance.

The issue at hand resonates with a significant population in Glasgow. Since homeowners have the right to know exactly where their factor fees go, we demand an explicit account of what these fees cover. Furthermore, it is time to update the ancient criteria stated in our title deeds regarding factor services. This will, no doubt, be a considerable step in improving the experience and affordability of homeownership in our city.

It is high time we were provided with fair and transparent service for our factor fees. We ask the relevant authorities and our local representatives to look into this matter urgently and make the necessary changes. Make a stand for homeowners in Glasgow. Sign this petition.
