Since my first petition was started a lot of things have happened.  Since winning my Ohio Court of Claims case against Toledo Police Department in march of 2024. We have found out that the Toledo Police Records Clerk lied on her affidavit when she said the video surveillance, forensic testing results, fingerprint report, and current list of evidence no longer exists. We contacted the Toledo Police Crime Lab and have documentation from them that the forensic reports in fact DO exist. When contacting the property room directly we did obtain the current list of evidence, the surveillance video is there on the list. However the items obtained through the search warrant in the beginning of the case, the items that were tested through the crime lab, the other suspects clothing, is NOT on current list of evidence. Where did they go??? We still need answers and Toledo Police refuse to give us the answers we deserve. It’s been 27 years! Why is Toledo Police still hiding evidence after most of the police and detectives from the case have retired. My only answer is Julia Bates the Lucas county prosecutor. We still need your help!
