As an independent artist, I followed every rules, invested my own hard-earned money, and promoted my music legally, only to have Spotify and CD Baby erase my music from their platforms without proof, an appeal process, or accountability. This blatant disregard for the rights and hard work of independent artists needs to be addressed. No warning, no evidence, no chance to defend myself – these practices are unspeakable.

Just two years ago, in December 2024, I reported suspicious activity on Spotify myself. Yet instead of investigating the issue, my music was removed without explanation. I not only stand for myself, but for all independent creators who pour their hearts into their work, only to be crushed by systems designed to favor the powerful.

This goes beyond a single case. It touches on the lives and livelihoods of many indie artists who, like me, have been silenced, erased, and ignored by Spotify and CD Baby. We struggle, yearn for fairness, truth, and justice in a system that continues to offer us none.

It's high time these streaming giants are held accountable for their actions. It's high time that they provide transparency in their operations and offer a fair platform for all artists. Their current practices are killing the indie music scene and it's time for this injustice to end.
