As a homeowner in this community, of Venetian Bay, New Smyrna Beach, I have witnessed a disheartening decline in the state of our common areas and our Town Center over the years. The heart of our community, our pool, which used to be a vibrant meeting spot, now lies closed and abandoned, filled with stagnant water and raising health and safety concerns We are also insulted by you charging us to park in our own town center and have already lost one business because of this . We, as homeowners, deserve a clear answer from Geosam and our Home Owners Association (HOA) as to why these areas are not being maintained. 

This neglect does not match up to the average standards of homeowners associations, where 90% of residents rate their overall community association experience as positive (Community Associations Institute, 2020). Our situation is not a part of the norm. It is not only the physical state that is going downhill, but also our sense of a community spirit which is determined by the quality of these shared spaces.

We are calling on Geosam and our HOA to elucidate why our communal spaces are not getting the attention they need, and what plans are in place to rectify this situation. More importantly, why do we still have a closed pool, which now poses more of a threat than a leisure spot? It is time for transparency, accountability, and action.
