I write this petition as an ardent fan of the first Joker film, deeply disappointed by the direction taken with Joker: Folie à Deux. This latest sequel appears to deliberately undermine and belittle fans of the original. Its extended running time of almost three hours does nothing to further develop characters and storylines.

Instead, defined character arcs are non-existent, and the main character, Arthur Fleck, is reduced to simply enduring beatings, with his intricate personality and development erased. He is not the captivating figure he was in the first film, and his persistent misery throughout this sequel undercuts his compelling nature. Additionally, even his love interest, Harley Quinn, whose character could have added depth and an extra dynamic, is largely an unknown entity who abandons him towards the end.

Fans worldwide have expressed their dissatisfaction over the film, leading to it having a remarkably low audience score. Hardly the thrilling sequel we had hoped for.
