The Issue

Hello, I am Sahasra from Bangalore. I am a student in Class 9, and I'm reaching out to share a pressing concern affecting students all across India. Recently, the NCERT books for our grade were released very late, and to make matters worse, only Part-1 has been made available. This has put many of us in a difficult position, affecting our performance and understanding of the curriculum.

In my personal experience, I've always been strong in mathematics. However, this year, despite my consistent efforts, I failed. This was not due to a lack of understanding of the subject matter, but rather because of the immense pressure placed on us to cover a large syllabus in such a short span of time. This is not just my story, but a burden shared by countless CBSE students across the country.

The delayed release of textbooks disrupts our preparation and impacts our academic outcomes. Statistics indicate that students perform better when they are given adequate time to digest the curriculum material. For instance, research shows that students who access study materials at the beginning of the academic year perform significantly better than those who receive them later.

We are not asking for an unreasonable change. We, the students, are simply requesting that the NCERT ensures timely release of textbooks at the beginning of the academic year. This change will not only relieve the undue pressure on us but also allow teachers to plan their lessons more effectively, creating a more conducive learning environment.

Additionally, implementing this change ensures fairness across the board, as all students, regardless of their location or school, will have equal access to educational materials. This move will equip students better, promote equality in education, and likely lead to improved academic performance nationwide.

Let's stand together to give every student the opportunity to succeed without unnecessary obstacles. Sign this petition to urge the NCERT and educational authorities to release our textbooks on time, thereby supporting the future of Indian education.
