Demand the USPS Board of Governors Abandon the "Delivering for America" Plan!

The Issue

The USPS "Delivering for America plan", which was implemented without our knowledge or consent, is not delivering in the ways it is promising. Instead, it has been causing significant delays in mail delivery, putting our communities at risk. New mail service centers in Virginia and Georgia are operating at only 36% of processing goals. Many Americans still do not have access to internet, broadband services or commercial package delivery. They have to rely on increasingly inefficient, slower "redesigned" mail service. Our community, like so many others, was not given the opportunity to provide input about how this will impact our lives.

There will be a significant increase in greenhouse gas emissions from long haul mail trucks due to this plan - a step back from our collective efforts towards environmental sustainability. The economic damage is also considerable due to loss of jobs and loss of future business investment.

We urge the USPS Board of Governors and Inspector General to stop these changes to our Constitutionally-established mail service. The justification for this plan is that it modernizes the USPS delivery system, drives the system toward privatization and reduces the carbon footprint. The facts are that it does just the opposite of what is intended. It's time we put an end to these detrimental impacts on our society caused by a poorly executed strategy.

Please sign this petition today if you believe that every American deserves reliable postal services without compromising their health, welfare or environment!
