Here is everything you need to know about Luke Murray!

Back-to-Back NCAA Titles (2023, 2024)

As a lead assistant under Dan Hurley, Murray helped guide UConn through one of the most dominant two-year runs in college basketball history: 12 straight NCAA Tournament wins, all by double digits, with a record +23.3 average margin. UConn finished #1 in KenPom both seasons, ranking top-5 in both offensive and defensive efficiency.

Program-Changing Impact

Murray’s value isn’t theoretical — it shows up clearly in the data from the programs he’s impacted. This kind of before-and-after contrast is rare and telling:

At Xavier, the Musketeers finished in the KenPom Top 15 in 2 of his 3 seasons. Since his departure in 2018, they’ve cracked the top 40 only once in seven years.

At Louisville, the Cardinals were Top 25 in KenPom in 2 of his 3 seasons. After his departure, they fell as far as No. 290 on KenPom.

Recruiting Powerhouse

Murray is widely recognized as one of the top recruiters in college basketball (ranked top-5 nationally by 247Sports). He’s landed elite national and international talent at UConn, Louisville, and Xavier, and played a central role in assembling UConn’s current top-3 recruiting class. With deep ties to the DMV and East Coast, he is perfectly positioned to re-establish Maryland as a recruiting force.
