Demand the U.S. House of Representatives RE-vote to stop the illegal war on Iran
The Issue
As a human rights lawyer dedicated to upholding justice above all else, I am deeply alarmed by the ongoing and unlawful hostilities directed at Iran. Our track record, as evidenced by a comprehensive study from Brown University, shows that western military actions since 2001 have tragically claimed the lives of approximately 4.6 million civilians. A recent study by the New York Times confirmed dthat it was either American or Israeli bombing that killed 175 schoolgirls in Iran. This is unacceptable. This war violates the principles enshrined in our Constitution and violates the tenets of international law. This war must cease, and we must strive tirelessly to prevent further needless loss of life.
Moreover, a recent poll indicates that nearly 60% of Americans are against this war, unequivocally demonstrating a robust demand for peace and diplomatic resolution. With such a significant portion of the population standing opposed, it is clear that our government has an obligation to listen and respond.
The U.S. House of Representatives holds the power to halt this conflict by casting a decisive vote against the war. Such a step is not merely a matter of legislative procedure but a moral imperative that reflects our commitment to lawful governance and humanitarian concern.
It is our democratic duty to remind our representatives of their responsibility to act according to both our own constitutional standards and international mandates. A House vote to end this war is not only a practical solution but a necessary stance to reaffirm our nation's dedication to peace and justice.
Join me in urging the House to vote against this illegal military action and place us firmly on the path to peace. Let us ensure that our leaders honor the rule of law, respect the will of the people, and prioritize human life above all.
Please sign this petition and let your voice be heard. We must stand together in advocating for a peaceful resolution that aligns with our fundamental values and the overwhelming desire for peace among our fellow citizens.
