In July 2020, I moved into my current home in this community, full of hope and brimming with dreams of warm and responsive neighborhood management. However, I fast fell into disillusionment as numerous incidents revealed the gross inadequacies of our current Homeowner's Association (HOA), a company-run entity that continues to fail our community.

One of the glaring issues relates to the neglect of maintenance of our community's lake aerators. This negligence has led to the unfortunate sickness and even death of the resident wildlife - a tragedy that strikes at the heart of our shared values for life and balance. When concerns about this were raised, the HOA's response was slow, delayed, and dismissive. Evidence of such failure isn't far-flung or abstract, it’s happening right here and now.

For our homes to truly become our havens, we must address the systemic problem that is the inadequacy of our current, company-run HOA. This calls for the transition from a company-controlled HOA to one governed by a board elected by you, members of the community. Elected leadership is more likely to understand, empathize with, and address the issues that impact us all.

The security of our homes, the health of our community, and the harmony of our shared environment hinges on this one demanding action.
