New information regarding exclusions!

Firstly I want to thank each and every one of you for your support! After doing more research in the matter, I’ve come to realize that over these last few years, the Television Academy has slowly been excluding positions in our department. Starting in 2020, these extremely important roles have been eliminated from the option of a nomination. Please see the list below with the new excluded titles bolded. You can also reference the official submission rules linked below.
2018-2019 Excluded Titles: N/A
2020-2021 Excluded Titles: Hairstyling Trainee, Hairstyling Intern, Wig Designer, Hair Designer, Hair Supervisor, Hairstyling Assistant, Hairstyling Coordinator, Crowd Hairstyling, and Crowd Hairstyling Coordinator
2021-2022 Excluded Titles: Hairstyling Trainee, Hairstyling Intern, Wig Designer, Hair Designer, Hair Supervisor, Hairstyling Assistant, Hairstyling Coordinator, Crowd Hairstyling, and Crowd Hairstyling Coordinator, Background Hairstyling Supervisor
2020 was one of the most challenging years for the world. And while many people were still working from home, we were risking our lives to create the very content that is consumed by the population and then used for these awards. It’s a slap in the face to not be included because of a “title”
In this day in age, when inclusion is critical, it’s essential that our background departments and it’s supervisors are acknowledged. If a department head is submitting our names, it is because we are essential to the creation of the show and the guild needs to consider this.
Thank everyone again for your support!
