TBATE Anime: A Total Disaster
The Beginning After The End anime is a masterclass in how to ruin a legendary franchise. What should have been a global phenomenon is now a low-budget mess that insults the source material.

The animation quality is the biggest insult. While the webtoon offered breathtaking art, the anime delivers stiff, lifeless movements and dated designs. Arthur’s combat, which should be fluid and impactful, feels clunky and weightless. The world design has been stripped of its soul; Dicathen looks like a generic, bargain-bin fantasy setting rather than the vibrant world we spent years reading about.

Worse yet, the studio had the audacity to include filler content. It is baffling that a production failing to animate the basic plot would waste resources on non-canon fluff. Instead of focusing on the complex world-building and character progression that made TurtleMe’s work famous, they’ve bloated the series with meaningless scenes.

This adaptation lacks the "DNA" of TBATE. It’s a soulless, rushed project that ignores the fans' expectations. For a story this great, "average" wasn't enough—but what we got is far below even that. It’s a tragic waste of potential.
