Demand the Return of Unjustly Seized Therapy Dog

Demand the Return of Unjustly Seized Therapy Dog
The Issue
I am a citizen who suffers from mental health issues, and my dog has been an essential part of my healing journey. On July 26th this year, my beloved pet was seized by the police under claims that he was dangerously out of control, despite never having bitten anyone. Now, they state there is no evidence to support their initial claim.
This ordeal has caused significant trauma for both me and my dog. He's only one year old and has spent nearly five months in a cage - a situation he had never experienced before. This not only affects his wellbeing but also significantly impacts mine as his absence leaves a void in my life.
According to the American Psychological Association (APA), pets can serve as important sources of social and emotional support for 'everyday people,' not just individuals facing significant health challenges. Moreover, research from Harvard Medical School suggests that dogs can help ease anxiety and depression symptoms.
The unjust seizure of therapy animals like mine is an issue that needs immediate attention. The law must be revised to protect therapy animals from being taken away without substantial proof or cause because it directly affects the mental health of owners like myself who rely on them for emotional support.
I urge you to sign this petition demanding justice for me and all other individuals whose therapy animals have been unjustly taken away by authorities without substantial evidence or cause. Your signature could bring us one step closer to reuniting with our beloved pets while ensuring such incidents do not repeat in future.
