The Freeport School Board and Central Administration have reached a tipping point where its actions have severely undermined the trust and confidence of our community. There have been sudden and unexplained staff cuts that have left our educational facilities short-staffed and struggling to maintain the quality of education our children deserve. Teachers and support staff, who are pillars of our educational environment, have faced retaliation, creating an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty.

Moreover, there is a distressing lack of transparency around crucial safety decisions, leaving parents and students in the dark about important measures that directly affect their well-being. Confusion and misinformation have replaced clear communication, exacerbating concerns among parents who simply want to ensure the safety of their children.

Perhaps most concerning is the noticeable disruption to special-education services. Vulnerable students who require consistent support and services tailored to their needs have suffered due to the board’s inadequacies. In light of these issues, we believe the current board leadership has proven ineffective in managing and safeguarding the interests of our community's educational system.
