Demand the Resignation of Suella Braverman for Suppressing Freedom of Speech

Thank you to everyone who has signed the petition so far, and for all your efforts to raise awareness for this very important matter.

Let us not lose sight of why the petition was created in the first place, and why so many people have signed it - Suella Braverman is a threat to UK democracy and wants to restrict free speech. She has accused peaceful protesters here in the UK, simply calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, as being affiliated with terrorism and inciting hatred towards Jews. Asking for peace and justice for Palestine is not anti-semitic. She has accused the police of bias for refusing to ban a protest, when the reality is that the Palestine Solidarity Campaign have organised thoughtful, calm and well-routed marches. No crimes are being committed and therefore police intervention is not required or warranted, and the police agree with this.

Braverman dislikes this as it ultimately prevents her from silencing us and the pro-Palestinian voice here in the UK. On top of this she is now also directing her hateful politics towards our most vulnerable community, the homeless. Who fines a charity for being kind and who takes away someone’s shelter when they have none? Who thinks that sleeping rough, being cold, wet, scared, alone and starving is a “lifestyle choice”?!

Please continue to make this cause a priority on your social medial channels. I am on instagram under @nomadonajourneytosomewhere and have the link to the petition in my bio. Feel free to share this and anything else I might post. I’m no social media expert, but I am really distressed by the current political climate here in the UK and seeing all the violence towards innocent civilians in Palestine whilst the world stands by and watches, makes me feel so desperately unhappy. With this petition, I hope that this can in some small way make a difference, and at least help like-minded people have their voice heard too.

Kind regards
Abbie
