Petition to Demand the Resignation of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services

To the President of the United States and Members of Congress:

We, the undersigned, demand the immediate resignation of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. from his role as U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS).

The Department of Health and Human Services duty is to safeguard the health, safety, and well-being of the American people. This role requires responsible leadership grounded in evidence-based science, medical expertise, and a dedication to action and consistency that the public can trust.  

Secretary Kennedy has undermined these principles numerous times. There is a long and backing history of promoting vaccine misinformation and conspiracy theories. This has perpetuated distrust in medical science, weakened public health campaigns, and endangered vulnerable, at-risk populations. Secretary Kennedy cannot be trusted with the leadership of HHS as he places the credibility of the department and the safety of Americans at risk for generations to come.

Specific concerns include:

·       Promotion of Misinformation: Secretary Kennedy has publicly spread misinformation about vaccine safety that has been disproven by established scientific consensus, undermining lifesaving immunization programs and putting your community at risk.

·       Erosion of Public Trust: the words from the Secretary of Health carry weight and authority creating trust by Americans. Secretary Kennedys words and actions have remained inconsistent with his claims that go against science-based medicine.

·       Conflict with HHS Mission: The mission statement of the HHS is to protect and advance public health. The current leadership disregards science that will compromise the department’s ability to carry out this mission effectively.

Public health crises demand leaders who inspire trust, protect the vulnerable, and defend scientific based medicine, research, and fact. Secretary Kennedy has proven himself as unable and unwilling to fulfill the role of Secretary of Health. Our nations health should not be politicized or compromised by leadership that spreads misinformation.

For the integrity of the Department of Health and Human Services, the protection of our communities, and the trust of the American people, we call for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to resign immediately as the United States Secretary of Health and Human Services.
