Natalie Cline, a member of the Utah State Board of Education, used her position to publicly humiliate and terrorize this minor on social media. She accused this innocent child of being transgender based solely on her appearance. As a result, it has become unsafe for this young girl to participate on her girls basketball team and she feels unwelcome at school.

Cline's actions have had far-reaching consequences. Her since-deleted social media tirade led to widespread abuse and bullying towards the girl from every corner of our state. This is not an isolated incident but rather indicative of Cline's behavior and misuse of power.

The role of an education board member should be to protect students' rights, promote their welfare, and create an environment conducive to learning - not instigate harm or perpetuate discrimination against them.

We believe that someone who uses their position in such a harmful manner does not deserve to hold office within our educational system. We are calling for Natalie Cline's immediate resignation from the Utah State Board of Education.
