I am a Scout Leader who has been passionately involved in Scouting for over 30 years. It is with a heavy heart that I call for the resignation of Matt Hyde, Chief Executive of Scouts UK. This request comes in the wake of an enquiry into Ben Leonard's tragic death and numerous failures that have occurred under Mr. Hyde's leadership.

During his tenure as CEO, we have witnessed a significant reduction in both volunteer and youth membership - an issue only superficially masked by initiatives like 'squirrels'. Alongside this, there have been notable issues with IT systems and ongoing financial failures which further highlight the need for change at the top.

The loss of Ben Leonard was not just tragic but also preventable. The enquiry into his death revealed systemic shortcomings within our organization which must be addressed urgently to ensure such incidents never happen again.

Scouting is about nurturing young minds, teaching them valuable life skills and creating a safe environment where they can grow and thrive. However, under Mr.Hyde's leadership, it seems these core values are being compromised.

We believe that Scouts UK needs new leadership to restore its credibility among members and stakeholders alike. We urge all those who care about Scouting’s future to join us in demanding Matt Hyde’s resignation from his position as Chief Executive Officer at Scouts UK immediately.
