As a Liverpool Councillor, I have personally witnessed Liverpool's financial distress due to the current Mayor's ineptitude in financial management. This has led us into a financial crisis, causing detrimental impacts to our community. There's compelling evidence towards financial mismanagement of the budget and suspicions of corruption, which has compelled the New South Wales Government to instigate a public inquiry into Liverpool Council.

This issue is not a mere political fallout. It relates to the welfare of our community, the safeguards of public coffers and the integrity of our Council. In a city that thrives on the hard work of its residents, such a display of financial negligence cannot be tolerated.

We need accountability, transparency, and responsible management for the residents of Liverpool. As public resources should be directed towards the betterment of our community, not siphoned off or mismanaged due to lack of experience or worse, corruption.
