On Monday, October 4th, it was announced that the State's Attorney's Office, led by Kim Foxx chose not to press charges against a group of individuals that were involved in a brazen shooting that took place on Friday, October 2nd, at 1244 N. Mason. This decision has come under intense scrutiny from The Mayor of Chicago Lori Lightfoot, The Superintendent of The Chicago Police Department David Brown, and various Alderman in Chicago, as they all believe that there is more than enough evidence to charge the individuals that were involved in this shooting.

The decision to not charge the individuals involved in this shooting is unfortunately not surprising, as the rate of prosecutions in Cook County under Kim Foxx’s leadership have been steadily decreasing since her election. Crime in Chicago is completely out of control and Kim Foxx has failed to uphold the sacred oath she took to protect the people of Chicago and Illinois by upholding the law and prosecuting criminals. As Chicagoans, we must demand that violent criminals be held accountable for their actions.
